- Academic Top Scholars (ATS) - Accessible to all dependent children, age 24 and under, and all spouses of Active-Duty U.S. military Service Members are eligible to apply for scholarships.
- AFCEA Educational Fund- The AFCEA Scholarship for Working Professionals will provide $2,000 to those students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree while employed in the science or technology disciplines directly related to the mission of AFCEA.
- Air Force Aid Society General George S. Brown Spouse Tuition Assistance Program (STAP) –a military education benefit administered by the Air Force Aid Society that provides tuition assistance to the spouses of active-duty U.S. Air Force service members residing overseas.
- The Air Force Aid Society General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program provides $2,000 grants to selected sons, daughters and spouses of active duty, retired or deceased Air Force members.
- American Legion Auxiliary Department Scholarship - Applicant must be sponsored by an Auxiliary Unit, be the child of an honorably discharged Veteran, be a Florida resident, and attend school in Florida.
- American Legion Legacy Scholarship - is available for children or legally adopted children of active duty U.S. military and Guard, and Reserve personnel who were federalized and died on active duty on or after 9/11/2001.
- American Legion Scholarship - for Non-Traditional Students. Applicant must be a member of the American Legion, Auxiliary, or Sons of The American Legion in good standing.
- America's Child - Higher Education Assistance -providing college education and welfare assistance to every child whose military parent gave their life to protect us from the horrors they faced on a daily basis.
- AMVETS - Dr. Aurelio M. Caccomo Family Foundation Memorial Scholarship -awarded to Veterans, including members of the National Guard and Reserves, seeking new skills in order to be competitive in the job market.
- AMVETS National Scholarship Program - is available to financially assist Veterans who have exhausted government aid, or who might not otherwise have the financial means to continue their education.
- AMVETS Scholarships - AMVETS annually awards scholarships to Veterans/active military, their sons, daughters or grandchildren. A son, daughter or grandchild of a deceased Veteran is also eligible.
- Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Scholarship - Scholarships of $2,500 each are offered to active-duty and honorably discharged U.S. Military Veterans
- Armed Forces Crossroads Scholarships for Military Children - A new program offers a scholarship to a college-bound military child at installations served by a commissary.
- Army Aviation Association of America Scholarships (AAAA) -financial assistance for the college-level education of members of the Army Aviation Association of America, Inc. , spouses, unmarried siblings, unmarried children and unmarried grandchildren of current and deceased AAAA members.
- Army Emergency Relief: Dependent Children Scholarship Program - The MG James Ursano Scholarship program is for dependent children of Service Members on federal active duty, retired, or deceased while in active or retired status.
- Army Emergency Relief: Stateside Spouse Education Assistance Program - a need-based education assistance program designed to provide spouses of active duty and retired Service Members and widows(ers) of Service Members who died either on active duty or in a retired status, and residing in the U.S.
- Army Scholarship Foundation - awards one-year financial scholarships (not grants or loans) on an annual basis to qualified and deserving students.
- Army Women's Foundation Assists students, including students with disabilities, with completing an undergraduate degree and provides work experience with the Central Intelligence Agency.
- Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund- Candidates eligible for scholarship awards are spouses and children (natural born, adopted or stepchildren) of all Chief Petty Officers.
- Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation - Providing college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who have lost a parent in combat or accidents.
- Coast Guard Exchange System Scholarship Program –is established to provide additional financial resources to Team Coast Guard dependent children embarking on undergraduate college/university studies.
- Colonel Christie Marine Corps Scholarship - is given to a former enlisted Marine leaving the Marine Corps to attend a four-year institution.
- Deeb Scholarship - Applicant must be adopted or orphaned (documentation required) and eligible for aid.
- Dolphin Scholarship Foundation - grants are available, to high school or college children/stepchildren of: (1) members or former members of the Submarine Force for at least eight years; or of (2) Navy members who have served in submarine support activities for a minimum of ten years.
- Fallen Warrior Scholarship Fund - has been established to provide financial assistance to U.S. military Family members of our Fallen Warriors for higher education.
- Federal Pell Grant Program - U.S. Department of Education - provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduate and certain post-baccalaureate students.
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) - provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduate students for postsecondary education.
- FFGC Scholarship for High School Students - Applicant must be a resident of Florida, will attend or is attending a Florida school, and must demonstrate financial need.
- Fisher House Foundation Scholarship Programs - Program is open to sons and daughters of active duty, reserve/guard, or retired military commissary customers.
- Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program - Applicant must be a Florida resident and a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen who does not owe a repayment or be in default under any state or federal grant, loan, or scholarship program unless satisfactory arrangements to repay have been made.
- Florida Engineering Foundation Scholarship - Applicant must have minimum 3.5 GPA and minimum 600 math and 500 verbal SAT scores and be enrolled at one of four ABET institutions in Florida.
- Florida Student Assistance Grant Program (FSAG) - Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and Florida resident for a minimum of 12 months prior to the start of classes and be enrolled in an eligible undergraduate academic degree program.
- Folds of Honor Foundation - Folds of Honor Foundation (FHF) provides post-secondary educational scholarships to the spouses and children of Service Members disabled or killed as a result of their military service.
- Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund – for the dependent child of an active duty Service Member who was killed or permanently disabled (100%) rating as the result of an operational mission or training accident, or who is currently certified as POW or MIA.
- Heroes’ Legacy Scholarships -honors those who have fallen in battle, and who have died or have become disabled through their active military service on or after 9/11, 2001. For dependent unmarried children under age 23.
- Hope for the Warriors -The Spouse/Caregiver Scholarship program to aid in continued education at a reputable, accredited university, college, or trade school for spouses/caregivers as they assume critical roles in the financial well being of their Families.
- Horatio Alger Military Veterans Scholarship - is awarded to Veterans who have served under the United States Military Operation in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan or Operation Iraqi Freedom beginning Sept. 11, 2001 or later.
- Huebner Scholarships, named for Lieutenant General Clarence L. Huebner are competitive scholarships for children and grandchildren of former members of the Division as well as children of active-duty 1st Infantry Division Service Members.
- Irag and Afghanistan Service Grant -A student who is not eligible for a Pell Grant but whose parent or guardian was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces and died as a result of service performed in Iraq or Afghanistan after September 11, 2001 may be eligible to receive the Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant. Enrolled in college at least part-time at the time of the parent’s or guardian’s death.
- The Joanne Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarship Program is administered by the NationalMilitary Family Association (NMFA).
- The Chief Warrant Officer John A. Keller-CWOA Scholarship is available to dependents of members in good standing of the Chief Warrant Officers Association.
- Jose Marti Scholarship Challenge Grant - Applicant must be a Hispanic-American student who is enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours for undergraduate study or nine credit hours for graduate study.
- Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association -FRA’s scholarship program has also been helping deserving students.
- Marine Corp Scholarship Foundation (Dependents)- provides scholarships for higher education to deserving sons and daughters of Marines and children of former Marines.
- Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation, Inc.-for children of Marines or Federal law enforcement personnel who were killed on duty or died under extraordinary circumstances while serving our country at home or abroad.

- The Military Order of the Purple Heart Scholarship is available to the recipient of a Purple Heart; a direct descendant of a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart or of a Veteran killed in action or who died of wounds; or a spouse or widow(er) of a recipient of the Purple Heart.
- Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA)
- Military Spouse Fellowship Program for Financial Counseling- gives spouses the training they need to earn the Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC®) designation.
- National Guard Educational Foundation (NGEF) - NGEF, DRS Technologies Create College Scholarship For Children of Fallen National Guardsmen:
- National Military Family Association (MNMFA) MILITARY SPOUSE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - NMFA scholarship funds are awarded only to military ID-carrying Uniformed Services’ spouses (active duty, retiree, Reserve, National Guard, and/or survivor)
- The National Military Family Association's Joanne Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarships are awarded to spouses of Uniformed Services members (active duty, National Guard and Reserve, retirees, and survivors)
- Navy League of the United States - Currently, the Navy League Foundation has a total of 25 endowed scholarships.
- Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Education Programs - The NBCC Foundation Military Scholarship Program is for Service Members and Veterans to pursue careers in professional counseling.
- NTA Florida Undergraduate Scholarship - Applicant must be a permanent resident of Florida who is enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the State of Florida
- Operation Mom :Our Military Kids provides tangible support to the children of deployed and severely injured National Guard and Military Reserve personnel through grants for sports, fine arts and tutoring that nurture and sustain the children during the time a parent is away in service to our country.
- Paralyzed Veterans’ Educational Scholarship Program was established in 1986 to help members and their immediate Families gain post-secondary education
- Pat Tillman Foundation - Tillman Military Scholars program is accepting applications from Veterans and active Service Members
- The National Ranger Memorial Foundation, Inc. serves U.S. Army Rangers with a scholarship fund.
- Reserve Aid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to providing financial support to the Families of Reserve Service Members from all services, who have been called to active duty and are experiencing financial difficulty.
- The Retired Enlisted Association's (TREA) National Scholarship program. TREA members offer these scholarships to our Nations high school students.
- Rosewood Family Scholarship - Applicant must be a direct descendant of Rosewood Families affected by the incidents of January 1924.
- The Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or 100% Disabled Veterans and Service Members (CSDDV) provides scholarships for dependent children or un-remarried spouses of Florida Veterans or Service Members

- Selby Scholarship - Applicant must be a resident of DeSoto, Manatee, or Sarasota County in Florida, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be eligible for financial aid.
- Society of the Daughters of the United States Army (DUSA) welcomes your interest in applying for one of our academic scholarships to assist your collegiate education.
- Society of the First Infantry Division - Scholarships & Grants - DePuy Scholarships are provided for children of Service Members killed in combat or training accidents while serving in a unit assigned or attached to the 1st Infantry Division and authorized to wear the 1st Infantry Division patch.
- Special Operations Warrior Foundation College Scholarship program process starts in the 10th grade.
- Spouse Tuition Assistance Program (STAP) is to provide partial tuition assistance for spouses of Active Duty airmen or officers, who accompany members to overseas locations and will be attending college programs.
- Tailhook Educational Foundation scholarship, an individual must be a high school graduate and the natural, step, or adopted son, daughter or grandchild of a current or former Naval Aviator, Naval Flight Officer, or Naval Aircrewman or have served on board a U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier in ship’s company or the air wing.
- The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant (TEACH Grant) Web site enables you to complete directives so that you may receive one or more TEACH Grants to pay for your education.
- That Others May Live Foundation provides scholarships, Family counseling, and aid to surviving children of United States Air Force (USAF) Rescue Heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice during a Rescue mission, training, or other Personnel Recovery (PR) collateral mission.

- The AFCEA War Veterans Scholarships are offered to active-duty and honorably discharged U.S. military Veterans
- The Women's Army Corps Veterans Association Scholarship has been established to recognize relatives of Army Service Women.
- The Fund for Veterans' Education will provide scholarships for Veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who served in Afghanistan or Iraq who are now enrolled in school.
- The Graduate Incentive Scholarship (GIS) Program will provide forgivable loans to “historically underrepresented” students in master’s, first professional, and doctoral programs at public higher education institutions where such programs are offered.
- ThanksUSA Scholarships - Academic Top Scholars (ATS) - Accessible to all dependent children, age 24 and under, and all spouses of Active-Duty U.S. military Service Members
- The National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant is in addition to the student's Pell Grant award.
- Troops to Teachers (TTT) program provides financial assistance, counseling, and employment referral
- CIA's Undergraduate Scholar Program and contribute to the work of the nation before you graduate.
- VA Mortgage Center Scholarship - An ongoing scholarship offer for students with military affiliation, ROTC, and children of military members.
- The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program allows institutions of higher learning (degree granting institutions) in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate.
- The Veterans of Foreign Wars Military Scholarship program provides 25 $3,000 scholarships annually to VFW members who are currently serving in uniform or have been discharged within the 36 months before the December 31 deadline.
- Wings over America Scholarship Foundation was established in 1987. Our mission is to provide college scholarships to dependent children and spouses of all US Navy - officer and enlisted - active duty, retired or deceased who served within Naval Air Forces.
Scholarship Programs for Dependents of Navy and Marine Corps
Part I: Open Eligibility
AMVETS National Scholarship Program.
Awards are $1000 per year renewable for a total of $4000. Candidates must be high school seniors who demonstrate need and have exhausted all government financial aid. Request applications online from January 1- February 15 at www.amvets.org/HTML/for_our_members/scholarships or by sending a request and a SASE to AMVETS, PO Box 1347, Lanham, MD 20706-1347. Applications must be postmarked by April 13.
Commander William S. Stuhr Scholarship Fund.
One scholarship is awarded annually to a dependent of each of the Armed Services. The award is $565 per semester for a total of eight semesters ($4500). Seniors must be in to 10% of class, SAT/ACT over 1250/27, and have leadership experience. Send request and SASE between October and December to Executive Director, CDR William S. Daughters of the Cincinnati Scholarship.
An eligible applicant must be the daughter of a career officer commissioned in the regular Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, or Navy (active, retired, or deceased). Awards are renewable for 4 years. Send request and a SASE to Daughters of the Cincinnati, Scholarship Administrator, 122 East 58th Street, New York, NY 10022 or telephone 212-319-6975. Requests should include name of high school, class rank, and qualifying parent’s branch of service. Completed applications are due by March 15.
Defense Commissary Agency/Fisher House Foundation Scholarships for Military Children Program.
At least one award of $1500 per commissary will be awarded. Applicants must be enrolled, or planning to enroll, full time in the fall in an undergraduate program leading to a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university. A 3.0 GPA (on 4.0 basis) is required. Applications can be picked up at commissaries or downloaded from www.militaryscholar.org/apply/what.shtm. Student eligibility will be verified through DEERS. Applications must be returned to local commissary by February 22.
Jaycees War Memorial Fund Scholarship.
Although not solely for military dependents, the Jaycees make available 25 scholarships annually in the amount of $1000 each. Send request, a SASE, and a $5 application fee between July 1 and February 1 to JWMF, Dept. 94922, Tulsa, OK 74191-0001. Request forms can be downloaded from www.usjaycees.org/scholarships.htm. The check or money order must be make payable to JWMF.
Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association (LAFRA).
Awards are based on financial need, scholarship, and character. Preference will be given to applicants who are dependents of members of the FRA and/or LA FRA. Request information from LA FRA Scholarship Administrator, c/o Fleet Reserve Association, 125 N. West Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 or telephone 800-372-1294. The deadline is April 15.
Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Inc.
The Foundation offers scholarships annually ranging from $500 to $10,000 to the dependents of active duty or retired Marines and Marine Reservists. Family income is limited to $63,000. Applications are available online at www.mcsf.org. Additional information may be requested from Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 3008, Princeton, NJ 08543, or by telephone at 800-292-7777. Applications are due by March 1.
MOAA Base/Post Scholarships.
The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) awards 50 awards of $1000 each. Eligible applicants must be the dependent child of an active duty member or drilling Reserve/National Guard member of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, NOAA, or USPHS. The military sponsor does not have to be a member of MOAA. Applicants must be a high school senior or a college student working on the first undergraduate degree. Scholarship recipients will be selected randomly from among all applicants with representation given to each of the uniformed services. Applications can only be submitted online at www.moaa.org beginning November 1. Entries must be submitted no later than March 1.
Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH).
Eight scholarships of $1750 each are awarded annually to the son, daughter, or grandchild of a member or a Purple Heart recipient. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5. Applications should be filed between October 1 and March 15. Navy League of the United States.
Several one-time awards are offered with preference given to students who intend to major in math or science. Send request and a SASE to National Scholarship Foundation, Navy League of the United States, 2300 Wilson Blvd., Suite 1000, Arlington, VA 22201-3308 or download application at www.navyleague.org/scholarship. The deadline is March 31.
Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS).
NMCRS offers several financial assistance programs that are based on financial need. Two of the principal programs are the VADM E. P. Travers Scholarship and the Travers Loan Program. The Travers Scholarship provides $2000 per year and may be renewed. The loan is interest-free up to $3000 per academic year. Non-Commissioned Officers Association (NCOA) Scholarship Grant.
35 grants awarded annually to children and spouses of members of the Non-Commissioned Officers Association. Awards range from $900 - $1000; some awards are renewable. Completed applications are due by March 31.
Educational Assistance Program of the Military Officer Association of America (MOAA). MOAA provides interest-free loans and scholarships for children of active or retired service personnel of all ranks and services. Applications are available online at
www.moaa.org/education/2004/Application/LettertoStudents.asp. The deadline for applying is March 1.
USO Scholarship Program.
25 scholarships in the amount of $1000 each are awarded annually to the spouses and children of active duty service members. At least half of the scholarships are awarded to students who spent the preceding three years on overseas assignment and half are reserved for the families of enlisted personnel. The selection of recipients is based on scholastic record rather than need. Part II: Awards Based on Membership/Affiliation
Eligibility for the following scholarships is based on a parent’s membership in the granting organization or the military sponsor’s service with the organization or unit:
2nd Marine Division Association Scholarship.
The Association makes awards to the dependents of individuals who are serving or have served with the 2nd Marine Division or an attached unit. Family income may not exceed $42,000 for the taxable year the award is requested. Contact Memorial Scholarship Fund, 2nd Marine Division Association, PO Box 8180, Camp Lejeune, NC 28547-8180. The application deadline is April 1.
3rd Marine Division Association Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Awards are available to dependents of 3rd Marine Division Association members. Request information from Royal Q. Zilliox, Memorial Scholarship Fund, Third Marine Division Association Inc., 3111 Sundial Drive, Dallas, TX 65229-3757. Applications must be returned by April 15.
4th Marine Division Association of WWII.
The Association provides assistance to the sons, daughters, and grandchildren of men who served with the 4th Division during WWII. Income limits apply. Applications are available in August from the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 3008, Princeton, NJ 08543-3008. The deadline is April 1.
5th Marine Division Scholarship Fund.
Five scholarships are awarded annually to the dependents of Marines who served with the 5th Marine Division and who are current members of the 5th Marine Division Association. Applications are available in August from the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 3008, Princeton, NJ 08543-3008. The deadline is April 1.
Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) Scholarships.
Scholarships are available to the dependents of FRA members in good standing. The awards are based on financial need, scholarship, character, and leadership qualities. Marine Corps Tankers Association, Inc.
The John S. Cornelius and Max English Memorial Scholarships are awarded by the Association to the dependents of active duty, retired, honorably discharged, and reserve Marine Corps tankers. Good standing in the MCTA is required. Military Benefit Association Scholarship Program.
Up to five (5) $2,000 nonrenewable scholarships will be awarded each year by the Military Benefit Association. Applicants must be dependent children of members of the Military Benefit Association and must have a minimum GPA or 2.5 on a 4.00 scale. Selections are based primarily on academic record and demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities. Financial need is not considered. Navy Wives Club of America, Inc.
The organizations offer assistance to dependent children of active duty, retired, or deceased Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard enlisted personnel. Membership in the organization is required. Surface Navy Association.

1st Marine Division Association.
The Association provides grants to dependents of deceased or 100% disabled veterans of service with the 1st Marine Division. Beirut Relief Fund Scholarship.

Knights of Columbus Education Fund.
Scholarships are available to dependents of Knights who were killed or became totally and permanently disabled as the result of military service during a time of conflict. The awards include the costs for tuition, fees, room, board, and books at a Catholic college or university.
